Happy Memorial Day

The garage is well underway! Hopefully, it will be sided tomorrow and the electrician will be here on Wednesday! If all goes according to plan, we will have a functioning garage by the weekend!

On Sunday, we went to the Saul's for a cookout and had a great time! Cameron and Jack had fun playing together!

Concrete poured...

Yeah! What great progress has been made on the garage this week! The concrete is completely poured and construction is set to begin tomorrow! 30 yards of concrete were used to create our garage.

It's been a quiet day today...a bit cloudy and dreary...but we have high hopes for a warm-sunny-long weekend! :)

Jack and I made cookies today...they are quite delicious! :) Shana and I are going to begin a recipe-swappping blog together...hopefully, I will be able to post the recipe soon.

Jack was helping Mommy make cookies in the kitchen while happily enjoying his swing!

Random thoughts

I thought everyone could use a smile on this dreary, rainy day! I took this picture of Mr. Jack last Friday before we took a walk outside and went to school to visit all of my students! Shannon picked this outfit out for Jack- I LOVE IT- thank you, Shannon!

Garage update: Today is day 3 of the garage adventure... I will try to post some updated pictures later today or tomorrow. It seems to be going well...and relatively quickly! I am very excited to get all of the garage stuff out of our basement so we can finally get the basement liveable! :)

Barry began his new management position at Progressive and he is doing a great job! He seems to be enjoying the new challenges...I am very proud of him!

I begin evening classes again tonight at Baldwin Wallace... the end is near: only 8 more weeks until I have my Masters Degree in Educational Technology. Yipppeee!!!

Love to all!

More Mother's Day fun...

Daddy and Jack picked out a beautiful Vera Bradley duffle bag for me for Mother's Day. It is in my favorite pattern, "Java Blue"! I love it! It also came with a card that I will forever cherish. Barry- thank you for making Mother's Day so memorable...and thank you for sharing the most wonderful gift of all with me~ Jack!

Our three nephews (along with their Mommy, Shana) made me these beautiful flower pots for Mother's Day! From left to right, the artists that made the pots are: Andrew (age 2), Caleb (age 9), and Brayden (age 5)! I think they are so beautiful! Thank you, boys, for filling our lives- and Mother's Day- with so much love!

Our first Mother's Day

My first Mother's day was full of love, laughter, and joy as we were surrounded by family. Barry, Jack and I traveled to Napoleon for Jack's baptism. Jack was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran church, with Shana and Shannon as his sponsors, on Mother's Day. Jack is very lucky to have two sponsors that love him so much! After the ceremony, we went to Deb and Jim's house for a celebration brunch...it was perfect. So much love and time went into preparing the brunch...Thank you, Shana, Mom, and Deb! I was overcome with emotion to be surrounded by so much love and support on Mother's Day from all of our family members that were able to attend the special event and very thankful for the many well-wishes from family that lives far away too!

New pictures by Maria!!!

Yesterday, Jack and I enjoyed lunch with our new friends Maria and Owen. Maria and I took lunch to another new Mommy we met at the breastfeeding group, Melissa. Melissa just had her little boy, Nigel, 3 weeks ago. We all had a very nice day together! Maria took the most beautiful pictures of the babies! You can tell that her passion shines through each picture!
You have to check out more of Maria's work on her blog and website!!!

Metro Park

This week has been full of sunshine! (except for today...very dark and rainy today!) On Monday, Jack and I took a long walk in the Metro Park by our new house. Jack LOVED being outside...he smiled and giggled and even took a little cat-nap!

Jack is such a happy baby!

Jack's oldest cousin, Caleb, was so happy to give Jack a bottle! (Jack was very happy, too!)
